Who We Are – Serving the Nation Through Education

On 11 July 1988, the N.K. Ganapayya Rotary School for Hearing-Impaired Children was established in memory of Late N.K. Ganapayya by his son Dr. N.G. Ravindranath, with the support of the Rotary organization. At the inauguration, the then Minister H.D. Deve Gowda presided over the function. The then Union Railway Minister and Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri C.M. Poonacha, attended as the chief guest.

The school was initially started in 1988 in a single room near Subhash Maidan, with only 7 students and 4 staff members. At present, the school serves students from Class 1 to Class 10, with a total of 71 students and 17 staff members.

For constructing a permanent school building at Koudalli, the Hassan Zilla Panchayat granted 2 acres of land free of cost. The foundation stone for the new building was laid in 1999. The ceremony was performed by Shri Y.K. Lakshman Gowda, Managing Director of Coffee Lands. Significant support was also provided by V.P. Krishnan, then Executive Director of Coffee Lands, who helped secure a donation of ₹15 lakh for the construction of the school building. From 2000 to 2025, the school has consistently achieved a 100% pass rate in the SSLC examinations. Students who pass the SSLC examination continue their higher studies at institutions such as JSS Polytechnic, Mysuru, and NTTF College, Bengaluru.
